Mention the offer when you book. One offer per household per visit; offers can’t be combined with each other and don’t apply to work already quoted or completed. Local pricing and availability vary by location - your local Portcullis Gate Repair team confirms the final price in writing before any work begins.
Every job is priced the same way: a free written estimate
We price the job, not the hour. Before anyone touches anything, you get the full price for the specific work in writing - no hourly meter, no membership to join, no financing to sign, and no line items added afterwards. If the number isn’t right for you, the estimate is still free and you owe us nothing.
How We Price Gate Repair Work
Every job at Portcullis Gate Repair is priced job-by-job, off a free written estimate. No hourly rate that climbs while the tech is on your driveway. No plan to join, no subscription to cancel later. You get one number, in writing, before anyone picks up a tool – and that number is the price. That’s the whole model.
The reason it works better for homeowners is simple: you can make a real decision. When the price is written down before the work starts, you’re not guessing at what the invoice will say. You can say yes, or you can say no. Either way, you’re in control of it. That’s how we’ve run things since 2008, and it hasn’t changed.
What a Visit Actually Costs You to Find Out
Nothing. The estimate visit is free. A uniformed, background-checked technician comes out, looks at the gate, diagnoses what’s going on, and puts the full price for the repair in writing. The visit typically takes somewhere between twenty and forty-five minutes depending on the system and what it needs. At the end of it, you have a written number and a clear explanation of what we’d do.
You’re not obligated to proceed. If the number doesn’t work for you, or you want to think it over, that’s a completely reasonable outcome. We’d rather you make the right call for yourself than feel pressured into a repair you’re not comfortable with. Call us, get the estimate, decide from there.
When People Usually Call Us
Gate problems don’t follow a polite schedule. That said, there are patterns anyone in this trade recognizes.
After a power outage, calls come in because the operator lost its settings or the battery backup finally gave up the last reserve it had. After a hard freeze, it’s usually hinges and rollers that have tightened up or a limit switch that can no longer tell the gate where it is. After a long hot stretch, the heat gets into control boards and wiring connections in ways that don’t always show up immediately – the gate starts acting intermittent, which homeowners often describe as the gate “just starting to act up.” Usually it’s been building for a while.
Community gates and HOA-managed gates tend to get attention before the holiday season, when traffic through them doubles and nobody wants to field complaints from residents. That’s a reasonable time to have the system looked at.
If your gate is making a sound it didn’t used to make, or hesitating where it didn’t used to hesitate, those are worth a call. Small mechanical signals are usually cheaper to address before they become full stops.
What You Can Expect From Us Either Way
Whether or not there’s a current offer that applies to your job, a few things don’t change.
You get the written price before any work starts – always, on every job, with nothing added afterward without your approval. You get a real arrival window, not a four-hour range with no follow-up. The technician arriving is uniformed and background-checked, and you can know who to expect before the truck pulls up. The job site gets left clean.
Every repair comes with the 365-Day Done Right Promise, which is part of the Kingswell Guarantee and stamped on the repair invoice. If the repair fails inside that 365-day period, we come back and correct it at no charge. No arguing about it, no diagnostic fee for the return visit. That’s what the written guarantee means.
Calls are answered by a live person, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Not a voicemail system. Not a callback queue. A person.
Our technicians carry certified service experience across nine gate-operator brands: LiftMaster, FAAC, BFT, Linear, Viking, Ghost Controls, DoorKing, Elite, and Mighty Mule. The person who shows up already knows the system on your property. That matters when the diagnosis needs to be right the first time.
Common Questions
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. There’s no trip charge and no diagnostic fee attached to the estimate visit. A technician comes out, evaluates the gate, and gives you the price in writing. If you decide not to move forward, you owe nothing for the visit.
Do you offer financing or a monthly plan?
We don’t, and that’s deliberate. Every job is priced off a free written estimate – one clear number for the specific work on your specific gate. There’s no hourly rate, no subscription, and nothing to sign up for. The written estimate is how we keep the price honest and straightforward.
Can I combine two offers?
One offer per household per service visit. If you’re not sure which one applies best to your situation, ask the technician before any work starts – they can walk you through it. The written estimate will reflect whichever offer applies before you’re asked to approve anything.
Does the price change once you’re on the job?
No. The written estimate is the price. If the technician opens the panel and finds something that wasn’t visible from the outside – a secondary issue that would need additional work – we stop, explain what we found, and give you a revised written number before touching anything else. You approve it or you don’t. The original scope never quietly expands on you.
